Dieci tra parchi e riserve naturali ma anche 25 strutture turistiche e due associazioni di promozione territoriale. Dieci le regioni coinvolte con Toscana, Emilia Romagna, Piemonte e Veneto a raccogliere il maggior numero di riconoscimenti tra le strutture. Sono queste alcune delle cifre che hanno caratterizzato gli Oscar dell’ecoturismo 2017, l’iniziativa con cui Legambiente premia i territori e le strutture più impegnati a promuovere un turismo ecologico e sostenibile. Con questo progetto Legambiente vuole valorizzare un’idea alternativa di turismo compatibile con il rispetto dell’ambiente e del territorio.
Gli Oscar dell’ecoturismo 2017
Legambiente ha presentato gli Oscar dell’ecoturismo 2017 nella giornata di oggi scegliendo il contesto della BTO di Firenze. La Buy Tourism Online è una delle più grandi fiere europee dedicate ai viaggi ed al turismo ed è giunta quest’anno alla sua nona edizione. L’evento si rivolge a tutta la filiera che ruota attorno al turismo a cominciare ovviamente dagli operatori del settore, dalla istituzioni e dalla amministrazioni locali. La BTO è anche luogo ideale per l’innovazione e le nuove proposte nel campo del turismo, un settore che a volte si è mostrato statico rispetto ai cambiamenti di scenario in corso.
Come dicevamo il contesto della BTO è stato scelto da Legambiente per assegnare gli Oscar dell’ecoturismo 2017. Sul territorio sono state premiate iniziative organizzate da aree marine protette, da parchi nazionali e da parchi regionali. Le 25 strutture turistiche premiate invece sono state suddivise in 9 diverse categorie intese a valorizzare altrettanti comportamenti virtuosi che vanno dalle scelte energetiche all’uso dell’acqua, dalla mobilità sostenibile all’alimentazione.
Dieci parchi per l’ecoturismo
Le aree protette premiate da Legambiente sono state scelte tra quelle che meglio hanno saputo coniugare la vocazione turista con la tutela dell’ambiente. Esempi virtuosi di gestione del territorio che si ritrovano a tutti i livelli della struttura delle aree protette italiane. Gli oscar per il turismo ecologico infatti sono stati distribuite a due aree marine protette, quattro parchi nazionali e quattro parchi regionali. Vediamo in dettaglio le scelte fatte da Legambiente:
- Area marina protetta del Plemmirio (Sicilia, provincia di Siracusa). Scelta per gli interventi sugli accessi al mare.
- Area marina protetta Torre del Cerrano (in Abruzzo, provincia di Teramo). Scelta per la realizzazione del progetto ‘Lido amico del Parco’ che coniuga le le esigenze di fruizione con il rispetto del parco.
- Parco nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga (in Abruzzo, Marche e Lazio tra le province de L’Aquila, Ascoli Piceno, Teramo, Pescara e Rieti). Premiato per il progetto ‘Passaporto dei parchi’ con cui si è favorito un turismo ambientale condiviso attraverso i parchi naturali.
- Parco nazionale delle Cinque Terre (in Liguria, provincia di La Spezia). Scelto da Legambiente per il progetto ‘5 Terre Card’ con cui si è voluto sostenere il rapporto tra il parco naturale e l’agricoltura.
- Parco regionale Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi ( nelle Marche, provincia di Ancona). Scelto per aver incrementato i percorsi escursionistici e speleologici a disposizione dei visitatori all’interno del parco.
- Parco regionale dei Nebrodi (in Sicilia, tra le province di Messina, Catania ed Enna). Selezionato per l’istituzione del marchio di qualità ‘Nebrodi Sicily che valorizza i prodotti e gli operatori locali.
- Parco naturale regionale di Portofino (in Liguria, provincia di Genova). Scelto da Legambiente per l’istituzione della ‘Locanda del Parco’.
- Ente regionale RomaNatura (nel Lazio). Scelto per per la variante dei Parchi della Via Francigena.
- Parco nazionale dei Monti Sibillini (Marche ed Umbria tra le province di Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Macerata e Perugia). Scelto per il progetto l’Hotel del Camoscio.
- Parco nazionale della Majella (Abruzzo, tra le province di Chieti L’Aquila e Pescara). Scelto per il progetto l”Altra neve: turismo sportivo e salute’ che abbina il turismo sportivo con la tutela della salute.
Filo conduttore che lega tutte le aree protette premiate con gli Oscar dell’ecoturismo 2017 è la capacità di favorire nuove forme di turismo ecologico. Allo stesso tempo questi progetti rappresentano un contributo alla valorizzazione del territorio e funzionano da volano per l’economia e l’occupazione. Modelli virtuosi che potrebbero essere replicati in altri contesti rafforzando una nuova idea di turismo sostenibile.
Premiate anche 25 strutture turistiche
Come abbiamo già accennato i riconoscimenti per l’ecoturismo 2017 sono stati assegnati anche a 25 strutture turistiche che operano con criteri di sostenibilità ambientale. Queste attività hanno superato in maniera convincente una serie di controlli definiti da un apposito disciplinare. Gli aspetti valutati vanno dal ricorso alla bioedilizia alla corretta gestione dei rifiuti, dall’impegno sociale alla qualità del cibo, dall’accessibilità dei luoghi e dei servizi alla promozione di attività didattiche, dalla promozione del territorio alla mobilità a basso impatto ambientale.
Le 25 realtà premiate sono state suddivise in 9 diverse categorie con lo scopo di evidenziare il settore ecologico di eccellenza di ciascuna struttura: Gestione ambientale (4 strutture premiate), Impegno sociale (2), Amici del clima (7), Risparmio idrico (2), Alimentazione e gastronomia (4), Riuso creativo dei materiali di scarto (1), Mobilità sostenibile (1), Comunicazione ed educazione ambientale (3), Gruppo locale (1).
