Frutta e verdura di stagione, quale comprare sui banconi di supermercati e di piccole frutterie? Nel mese di dicembre la frutta di stagione è rappresentata principalmente da agrumi: aranci, limoni, mandarini, mandaranci e pompelmi. Tra la frutta di stagione, di quella più saporita e buona da consumare in questo freddo mese, vi sono anche: cachi e cachi alla vaniglia, mele, mele cotogne ottime per conserve e marmellate, pere, nespole, kiwi e poi ancora castagne, noci e frutta secca. Non a caso le ricette per il Natale prevedono tra gli ingredienti proprio frutta secca, arance candite e mele. Non vi consigliamo di acquistare la frutta di provenienza italiana piuttosto che quella estera, anche se i prodotti importati hanno generalmente un costo più elevato per via della distribuzione.
Nel banco delle verdure è bene acquistare per la stagione in corso: broccoli, barbabietola, cavolfiore, cavolo cappuccio e cavolo verza, ma anche carciofi, carote, cavolini di bruxelles, cicoria, crauti, finocchio, porro, indivia, radiccio, ravanello, sedano, spinaci e zucca. Quindi semaforo verde per le verdure che avete comprato nel mese di novembre e per minestroni, zuppe e piatti da consumare caldi.
Aggiungiamo tra i consigli per l’acquisto di frutta e verdura di stagione anche indicazioni per chi possiede un piccolo orto urbano o anche vasi in balcone destinati alla coltivazione. Nel mese di dicembre un perfetto contadino deve ricordare di seminare in semenzaio protetto, per tenere al caldo le verdure dalle prime gelate della stagione, lattuga, radicchio e ravanello. Buona spesa e buona coltivazione!
