A Roma continua a espandersi la pratica dell’orto condiviso: l’aggiornamento 2013 della mappa online di Zappata Romana mostra un incremento del 50% di orti e giardini condivisi, con un numero di aree che passa da 100 a 150. I cittadini che decidono di rimboccarsi le maniche e fare un uso migliore delle aree pubbliche abbandonate, sono sempre di più.
La mappa online di Zappata Romana viene visitata oltre 30 mila volte l’anno per scoprire maggiori informazioni e dettagli sull’attività dell’orto condiviso a Roma. Il messaggio alla base del lavoro di Zappata Romana “si può fare” sembra essere stato accolto dai romani che, davanti all’inerzia della Pubblica Amministrazione, hanno deciso di “fare” qualcosa per se stessi e per il resto della comunità, non solo orti e giardini ma anche campi di calcio, palestre, basket, aree cani o, semplicemente, la manutenzione del verde.
Zappata Romana è un progetto di studioUAP che monitora, segue, indaga il fenomeno degli orti condivisi nella capitale, riconoscendo alla pratica lo status di azione collettiva di appropriazione dello spazio pubblico innovativa, con sviluppo di termini di relazioni sociali, ecologiche ed economiche inedite. Dal 2010, anno di nascita di Zappata Romana, che si occupa anche di promuovere le competenze utili per l’attività, la pratica degli orti condivisi è andata crescendo in svariate zone di Roma (in foto, vediamo un orto condiviso in zona Pigneto).
Grazie alla mappa di Zappata Romana è possibile individuare, atttraverso Google Maps, tutti gli orti condivisi della città, segnalati, a seconda dei casi, con diversi simboli colorati sulla cartina.
