Fine dicembre è tempo di bilanci, e per capire in che direzione va il mondo oggi non c’è nulla di meglio che osservare le maggiori ricerche effettuate sui motori di ricerca. Per questo Google ha realizzato uno studio per valutare le parole più ricercate dell’anno, ed ecco cosa ne è venuto fuori. Ovviamente in questa sede tratteremo solo le ricerche sui temi ambientali.
Tra gli argomenti e le tematiche ambientali più ricercate c’è sviluppo sostenibile. Evidentemente si tratta di un modo per uscire dalla crisi, ma senza danneggiare l’ambiente, in cui la gente crede, dando una mano a se stessi e agli altri, nel rispetto delle norme per salvaguardare il pianeta. Ci fa molto piacere vedere che il trend mondiale vada in questa direzione.
Uno degli argomenti che sono sempre più cercati resta quello dell’energia pulita (solare prima di tutto, seguito dall’eolico), ma secondo Google, nelle ricerche in tema ambientale del 2011, al secondo posto dietro lo sviluppo c’è l’energia sostenibile. Sinceramente qui mi trovo un po’ spiazzato, avrei pensato più a ricerche su “energia pulita” e “fonti rinnovabili”, ma evidentemente energia sostenibile ha più appeal. Come ce l’ha, ed anche questo ci fa molto piacere, “agricoltura sostenibile”, un altro segno dei tempi che cambiano. Ma attenzione perché anche nucleare è una delle hotwords del 2011, anche se probabilmente più per quello che è accaduto a Fukushima che per altri motivi.
Un ulteriore segnale che la gente vuol fare qualcosa per l’ambiente sta nella frase, tra le più ricercate al mondo e prima fra quelle ambientali “come si fa il compost“. Al secondo posto invece c’è “che cosa è il veganesimo”. Pensiamo più per una questione di curiosità che non per vera dedizione alla causa, visto che se vegetariani ce ne sono tanti in giro, i vegani sono piuttosto rari.
Per quanto riguarda gli animali, senza dubbio il 2011 è stato l’anno del panda rosso, una specie in via di estinzione che è stata momentaneamente salvata dal pericolo, ma che comunque resta sotto osservazione. Un’osservazione 24 ore su 24 dato che alcuni zoo permettono di seguire questi bellissimi animali con le webcam. Lo stesso dicasi per il ghepardo, secondo animale più seguito su Google, e per il tapiro, stranamente più cercato di altri animali in via di estinzione.
Nel campo delle auto ecologiche, la ricerca maggiore si è incentrata sulla Prius, l’auto elettrica “di lusso” della Toyota che non ha nulla da invidiare ad una Ferrari, seguita dalla Chevy Volt e dalla ricerca “smart car”. Evidentemente la gente è stanca di macchinoni mangia-benzina e vuol risparmiare un po’. Tornando alla vita quotidiana, va sempre di moda il riutilizzo, e così secondo Google in quest’ambito la parola più ricercata è borse riutilizzabili, seguite dai pannolini riutilizzabili e bottiglie d’acqua riutilizzabili. A questo si associa anche il tema dello smaltimento dei rifiuti, e così le ricerche maggiori sono state fatte sulle parole “isola dei rifiuti”, “riciclaggio rifiuti elettronici” e “riciclaggio Apple”.

Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
