Emissioni CO2 in Italia +2% nel 2010, male Sardegna e Puglia

L’Istat diffonde i dati sulle emissioni di CO2 in Italia nel 2010, e non sono buoni: +2%, con Sardegna e Puglia che registrano le più alte emissioni pro capite. L’istituto statistico propone inoltre delle interessanti comparazioni con gli altri stati europei.

Nel 2010 le emissioni di CO2 in Italia sono cresciute del 2% rispetto al 2009, rileva l’Istat nel suo nuovo rapporto “Noi Italia. 100 statistiche per capire il Paese in cui viviamo”. Un dato nettamente negativo che, come si legge nel rapporto, allontana il nostro paese “dall’obiettivo di massima emissione fissato dal protocollo di Kyoto”. Nel 2010 particolarmente negative sono state le emissioni pro capite di gas legati all’effetto serra in Sardegna, Puglia e Liguria, rispettivamente 16 tonnellate, 15,3 tonnellate e 14 tonnellate di CO2 per singolo abitante. Al contrario, le regioni che hanno riportato valori più bassi di tonnellate di CO2 emesse pro capite sono state la Campania, la Calabria e le Marche, con 3,9, 6 e 6,9 tonnellate per abitante.

Interessante dato statistico proposto dall’Istat è inoltre quello relativo alle regioni che sono riuscite a ridurre le emissioni di CO2 per abitante nel periodo compreso tra il 1990 e il 2005: le uniche cinque regioni ad aver registrato un calo sono state la Liguria, la Campania, il Veneto, la Calabria e il Lazio (ma per il Lazio la percentuale di riduzione è pari solo allo 0,4%).

Ma come si inquadrano questi dati nel contesto europeo? Prendendo come riferimento gli obiettivi del protocollo di Kyoto e come periodo d’analisi gli anni dal 2008 al 2012 sono stati 8 i paesi ad aver mostrato numeri in linea con la possibilità di centrare gli obiettivi del protocollo: Regno Unito, Francia, Germania, Grecia, Svezia, Portogallo, Belgio, Irlanda. L’Italia è fra i paesi che hanno registrato un aumento delle emissioni ma non è tra i peggiori stati europei (maglia nera di questa statistica spetta a Lussemburgo e Austria).

I dati per l’Italia si fanno decisamente peggiori se andiamo a considerare la riduzione delle emissioni dal 1990 al 2010: mentre l’Europa a 15 stati presenta un -10,6% di emissioni e l’Europa a 27 un -15,4%, la riduzione complessiva di emissioni di CO2 per l’Italia si ferma al 3,5%.
