E’ passato appena un mese da quando il Ministro dell’Ambiente Stefania Prestigiacomo, insieme al suo omologo francese Jean-Louis Borloo, ha stretto l’accordo per aumentare i controlli e la protezione delle aree marine ricche di biodiversità tra Italia e Francia. Ma proprio nei giorni scorsi è arrivata la notizia che la famosa Primatist Trophy 2010, la gara di motonautica più famosa d’Italia, si terrà proprio in una delle aree più delicate del pianeta.
La gara infatti coprirà parte della Toscana, Sardegna, Corsica e Provenza, un’area chiamata Santuario Internazionale Pelagos in quanto ospita una miriade di mammiferi marini, alcuni anche in pericolo d’estinzione, i quali di certo non vivranno dei giorni facili vedendosi sfrecciare vicino centinaia di imbarcazioni, con inquinamento da scarichi annesso.
Chiariamo subito che non abbiamo nulla contro la gara, ma non si capisce come mai non possa essere disputata nella zona in cui si è tenuta lo scorso anno, e cioè un’area della Sardegna che non è nominata riserva marina. Insomma, la Pelagos è l’area marina protetta più grande d’Europa, ma come spiega Umberto Mazzantini, responsabile Legambiente dell’Arcipelago Toscano, non vengono mantenute le promesse di protezione. Scrive infatti nella sua denuncia sul sito di Legambiente
Il Santuario dei cetacei somiglia sempre di più a una presa in giro. E’ protetto, di fatto, da vincoli molto blandi e l’unico vero divieto era rivolto, appunto, alle gare di motonautica. Da tempo abbiamo denunciato il lavaggio di cisterne a mare, il passaggio di petroliere e navi pericolose accanto al mare protetto dell’Arcipelago Toscano, la presenza di containers affondati, pescatori abusivi con reti derivanti e il rischio di trivellazioni petrolifere e addirittura la follia di una centrale nucleare a Pianosa. Ora crolla anche l’ultimo baluardo di tutela ufficiale.
Un aspetto incredibile considerando che sarebbe già deplorevole se accadesse in un’area marina normale, figuriamoci se si tratta di un’area protetta. A Mazzantini fa eco il vice presidente di Legambiente Sebastiano Venneri, il quale chiede un intervento della politica:
Chiediamo il suo intervento (del ministro Prestigiacomo, ndr) per bloccare questa manifestazione insensata nel tratto di mare che ospita il maggior numero di cetacei dell’intero bacino mediterraneo. Chiediamo inoltre al ministro di intervenire per assicurare il funzionamento del Comitato di Pilotaggio, l’Ente con sede a Genova che dovrebbe gestire Pelagos, bloccato e rimasto sulla carta anche per le inadempienze del nostro Paese.
Un appello a cui aderisce anche Ecologiae.
Ma avete mai sentito parlare del Primatist Trophy? da questo articolo io direi proprio di no… è un gruppo di armatori che vuole passare qualche giorno in allagria con la famiglia e l’uso che si fa delle imbarcazioni è il classico uso diportistico… gara di off-shore??? ma sapete almeno cos’è??? mah

mi spiace signor Lavazza, ma probabilmente o è lei che non ha mai sentito parlare del Primatist Trophy (o forse lo sta confondendo con un’altra manifestazione), oppure cerca di negare l’evidenza come fanno in molti, che tentano di giustificare le loro azioni inquinanti e distruttive con un “stavamo solo facendo una passeggiata”!
Ma certo signori, si parla di gare e punteggi, ma anche nella Gazzetta dell’anno scorso di parlava di prove a terra e in mare fatte da armatori e non da piloti!!!! secondo me, scambiare un raduno tra amici di gente che va in barca come tutti è solo questione di invidia per chi non può permettersi uno yacht…infatti si parla di navi da turismo che navigano come tutte le altre barche che passano in quella zona…e non di gare off-shore… volete bloccare tutte le barche in navigazione???ma dai!
certo che no, nessuno vuole bloccare le navi, ci mancherebbe altro! Quello che si chiede Legambiente è come mai questi raduni, gare o come vogliamo definirli, debbano avvenire in riserve vitali per i cetacei… tutto qui. Non ci sono altre locations più adatte? Inoltre si è sollevata una polemica proprio perché qualche settimana fa a sentir la Prestigiacomo sembrava quasi che da li non dovesse passarci più nessuno, meglio non creare false aspettative se non è affatto così!
Si parla si parla tanto di motori di aree protette di oasi poi vedi legambiente, greenpace che sfrecciano in lungo e largo con motori fuoribordo……………. è ora che usate i remi o le vele.
Poi se volete possiamo parlare di come queste aree vengono utilizzate da pochi eletti che con la scusa di sorvegliare praticano il “lei chi è? qui comando io” un esempio per rimanere in zona Oasi di BURANO del WWF.
