Virginie, nonostante le sue origini francesi, vive in Italia da più di 30 anni e proprio nel nostro Paese ha deciso di svolgere la sua attività che consiste nella produzione artistico-artigianale di mobili realizzati con il cartone riciclato. I suoi mobili non sono i “soliti” mobili di arredamento, e sono qualcosa in più di oggetti sostenibili: per prima cosa colpiscono delle sue creazioni i colori, accesi e vivaci; le forme tondeggianti ed “accoglienti”. E poi la mission della sua idea. I mobili sono ottenuti dalla lavorazione del cartone e poi vengono ricoperti da vernici vetrificanti o smalti che li rendono resistenti all’umidità, agli spruzzi d’acqua, agli urti. Sono dunque molto resistenti, al di là di quanto si possa pensare, e decisamente ecosostenibili. Come spiega la creatrice
I mobili sono tutti realizzati con la stessa tecnica, e con lo stesso materiale. Realizzo mobili solo su ordinazione quindi i pezzi sono possibili di modifiche secondo le esigenze degli acquirenti. E’ possibile modificare i colori e anche le dimensioni.
Sono dunque tutte creazioni uniche, che rendono questi oggetti di arredamento ancora più ricercati e originali. La produzione di Virginie riguarda anche scatole di cartone riciclato di varie forme e dimensioni.
